See You At The Pole 2014

See You At The Pole is this Wednesday! See You at the Pole™ is a global movement of prayer which is student-initiated, student-organized, and student-led. It revolves around students praying together on the fourth Wednesday in September, usually before school and usually at the school’s flag pole. It involves student in elementary schools, middle/junior high schools, high schools, and colleges/universities across the globe. Adults often pray in support of the students on campus by gathering nearby, at their places of work or worship, or at city halls.

Paul Smith will inspire you

Paul Smith will inspire you

Paul Smith inspires many despite his disability. From Wikipedia:

Smith was born in 1921 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He suffered from severe spastic cerebral palsy from an early age. The loss of fine motor control of his face and hands made it impossible for him to attend school—or even eat, clothe, or bathe himself—and also made it difficult for him to express himself.

Early in life Paul discovered the typewriter and a technique for using it to create pictures. He was able to use one hand to steady the other and thus press the desired key. He was creating typewriter art from age 15, and steadily refined his technique.

Paul passed away in June, 2007, but he will always show us what is possible when a person puts their mind to something that others said would be difficult, if not impossible, to achieve.

Purpose

What’s your purpose in life? Have you found it? Have you defined it? What are you living your life for? Your life has purpose.

“The Lord has made everything for his own purposes, even the wicked for a day of disaster.”

God made everything intentionally. He made you with purpose.

“When people’s lives please the lord , even their enemies are at peace with them.”

Passion

Passion is defined as “a strong feeling of enthusiasm or excitement for something or about doing something…” or “intense, driving, or overmastering feeling of conviction.” What gets you amped up? God has wired you a certain way with gifts and talents.

“We can make our plans, but the Lord determines our steps.”

Position

This isn’t what office your title you hold. This is about what direction and positioning you have your feet pointed and planted. Success is often determined by how we set our feet. When we get out of position, we get beat. We get knocked down. But if your feet are set properly in the right direction, you have a greater chance at success.

“Commit your actions to the Lord, and your plans will succeed.”

Perseverance

Perseverance is a tough word to chew. Its purpose is for the moments where you just want to throw in the towel.

“The highway of the upright turns aside from evil; whoever guards his way preserves his life.”
